Lt. Governor Frank Murphy visited our meeting this evening to install the new officers for the coming Kiwanis year.

Valentine Pancake Breakfast - 02/13/2016

Saturday's Valentine Pancake Breakfast was a success in every way! Good food enjoyed by all, plus fun for the kids with face painting and craft table and raising over $1000!!  Thanks to all those who attended, to all of our volunteers for helping and to our sponsors whose generous donations make this event an effective fundraiser.  Click here to view the photo album for this fun event.

We surveyed the teachers at the schools that we give dictionaries to every year.  This note came attached to one of the surveys sent to Erskine Elementary.  In this digital age we are still providing help to 3rd graders in Iowa.

2015 Raffle brings in over $2000! - 12/20/2015

Over $2000 was raised for our club with our 2015 Raffle! The drawing for prizes was Tuesday 12/16. Shown above are President Gary Sundberg and Treasurer Byron Tabor drawing the winning tickets. Twelve lucky winners shared a total of $2000 awarded in cash prizes (two $500 and ten $100), another 39 winners received gift cards from local generous donors. Thanks to all of our sponsors and to all of the members who collected prizes and sold raffle tickets!

Dictionary Season is Here! - 12/11/2015

Every year we give out around 1000 dictionaries to third graders in the metro area and surrounding counties.  24 schools in all.  Our members stamp each dictionary and then present them to the third graders.  The kids LOVE these and they are their's to keep.  Once in a while a local newspaper finds out and takes some pictures.

Fall Festival Costumes - 10/25/2015

A fantastic day for a Parade of Costumes! We had a great turnout for our first Costume Contest at Hiawatha's Fall Festival.  All kids who participated recieved a treat bag, and three lucky winners were awarded a trophy.  Go to our Facebook Page to see the huge variety of costumes and the winner for each category: Funniest Costume, Scariest Costume and Most Creative Costume. Hiawatha's Concert in the Park - 08/21/2015

Serving up hot dogs, brats, popcorn, soda and all with a smile!  Each Friday in August HiCrew provides concessions for the Concert in the Park at Hiawatha's Guthridge Park. Money raised goes toward new playground equipment for Hiawatha Elementary.

The new Goldfinch and Children's Choice Awards have arrived at the Hiawatha Library.  Each year Hi-CREW covers the cost of filling the shelves with these popular kid's books.
